At SRNMC, we don’t just compose - we sculpt sound into experiences that blur the line between art and atmosphere. Our latest collaboration with Pausing Point isn’t simply a feature on a mindfulness app. It’s an experiment in resonance: how breath, rhythm, and emotion can entwine to create something that’s both deeply personal and universally human.
Pausing Point isn’t your run-of-the-mill meditation app. It’s a curated space where science and stillness meet sound design. Built on the ancient yet ever-relevant practice of counted breathing, the app transforms routine inhales and exhales into guided rituals - each framed by music, musings, and soundscapes. Think of it as a breathing score where every pause is a rest note, every exhale a descent in melody.
SRNMC’s contribution was never about creating background music. It was about writing with the breath itself - composing in counts rather than measures. Each piece was engineered to move with the inhale, hold, exhale, and release of Pausing Point’s six foundational breathing patterns:
ᯓ➤ Focus (4-4-4-4): Metronomic precision. A score for clarity and concentration.
ᯓ➤ Calm (4-2-6): A gentle exhale, stretched into lullaby form.
ᯓ➤ Relax (4-6): Music that lingers, softening the edges of the day.
ᯓ➤ Balance (5-5): Symmetry in sound, mirroring breath as equal halves.
ᯓ➤ Unwind (4-7-8): A slow descent into stillness; nocturnes for the nervous system.
ᯓ➤ Energise (4-2): Sharp, vibrant motifs designed to lift, not lull.
Every note, texture, and tempo was meticulously aligned to help users not just follow their breath, but feel accompanied by it.
Pausing Point doesn’t stop at music. It surrounds breathwork with immersive soundscapes - the hush of forest leaves, the eternal pulse of waves - and guided reflections that land like poetic stage directions. Together, these layers transform what could be “just another app” into a multi-sensory practice.
Our tracks aren’t meant to dominate that space, but to serve as invisible architecture: scaffolding for serenity, structures for stillness.
We’ve always seen music as more than performance. This project echoes our wider vision: to create sound not only for listening but for living. Through Pausing Point, music becomes an instrument of wellbeing, not just entertainment - a way to score the inner world as carefully as we score the outer one.
As Pausing Point grows, so does the score. New tracks, new textures, new experiments in how sound can guide the body’s most essential rhythm: breath. For SRNMC, this isn’t a side project - it’s a statement of intent. That the future of music isn’t only found in concert halls or headphones, but in the quiet moments where we reconnect with ourselves.
Pausing Point is proof that music doesn’t just accompany life - it conducts it.
